Murray's business continued to grow. So when his son Leon was old enough to drive he would haul fish while Marian, along with a couple of employees, started to clean fish for retail customers. The business out grew that old refrigerator and in 1972 Murray built his first freezer, ice house, and cooler. In October of 1974 he incorporated the business to what it is now known as "Murray L. Nixon Fishery Inc."
Murray's motto was "Cheap seafood isn't good and good seafood isn't cheap". That dedication to making sure that quality was a higher priority than price has enabled the Murray L. Nixon Fishery to grow even in the toughest of time.
Today the company that started with a single refrigerator and truck is buying and selling to hundreds of customers all over the country, with the help of a fourteen truck fleet and fifty employees.
